Moving optimally again

A manual therapist is a physiotherapist who specialises in treating patients with complaints concerning the spine or arm and leg joints. Our manual therapists have all graduated from internationally recognised manual therapy institutes. Thanks to their specific knowledge of the anatomy and pathology of joints, they are expert at detecting and treating joint disorders of the limbs and spine.

Our manual therapists treat complaints such as:

  • headaches, neck pain and restricted movement of the spine
  • dizziness
  • neck and shoulder pain, with or without radicular pain in the arm
  • arthrosis
  • upper back pain, with pain in the ribs and the sternum
  • lower back pain, possibly with radicular pain in the legs
  • overview of orthopaedic complaints

What is the manual therapy treatment procedure?

First, the manual therapist looks for the cause of your complaint and then draws up a treatment plan in consultation with you. If necessary, your treatment may involve other disciplines. For your treatment, the manual therapist might use a variety of techniques, such as massage and manipulation of joints (‘cracking’). You will receive advice, guidance and insight into healthy movement. The therapist will make good use of our well-equipped exercise rooms.

You will receive treatment from our manual therapists at one of our manual therapy practices in the Amsterdam districts Oud Zuid, Zuid, Pijp, Buitenveldert or Centrum.
